Friday afternoon, August 8th - Outdoor Courts

Hi all

It has been a busy week, and as you see from the lack of recap, too busy to recap! It was great to welcome Patrice, aka Patty to our group. She is visiting and adds a lot while she is here! She is leaving again for a trip this afternoon, so showed up for some play this morning, where Richard and Steve joined her. Not sure how long they played, but the spirit is there.

We had most courts busy for play times this week, with John and Agnes challenging Rahil and I late on Wednesday evening, so late that we could have used some lights. Bruno was there and left his sunglasses, so he must have stayed after dark too? The games this week were fast and furious at times...with many of the regulars out from town, Memramcook and Amherst...

Today, the numbers were small, possibly because of the afternoon heat, but the faithful four who were there, Richard, Logan, Catherine and myself playing a round robin with everyone playing with the other players. Games were all fun and close with only one of us not coming out with a win. I will not mention her name! We were finishing up and saw Jeremy and his daughter, Layla from Amherst rallying in the far court. Catherine and I challenged them to a game which they kindly accepted. They were quite new to the game, so we helped them with some of the rules, and I am sure they will progress fast with their interest in the game. We shared with them the Tantramar Pickleball site for regular playing times and that the times are posted at our courts. As we were leaving Brent arrived hoping to join in when players were a little tired??? He mentioned that he was late from doing some sailing, and was just as happy just to spend some time talking with us... He DOES plan on returning for play tomorrow morning, our next scheduled outdoor play time, so let's get out a show him a great big welcome!
