Pickleball - Outdoor Courts - Sat, June 6, 2026
There were 20 people at the outdoor courts this morning and everyone is very happy to see the wind screens in place. Many thanks to the town. They make for better pickleball with better visibility and a little shelter from the wind. Unfortunately there was some vandalism and garbage on the courts. We are sad to see we have people in Sackville who think it is OK to destroy things that are not theirs. Help us by keeping an eye out and don't be afraid to warn people that are in

Pickleball - Outdoor Courts - Mon, June 8, 2026
What a perfect night to play pickleball! The sun was out, there was a slight breeze and the sound of pickleballs being played echoing around us. We had a great combination of regular players, a couple of folks we hadn’t seen for a while (welcome back!), and a few new faces. We kept all four courts active for most of the evening. We heard there was a good crowd of 21 people out on Saturday. This morning when Tim and I were working on adding additional ties to the windscreens t

Pickleball - Outdoor Courts - Sun, May 24, 2026 Competitive
Our second outdoor Sunday competitive session happened today. It was much better attended then last Sunday when we only had 8. Great play was had by the 22 players in attendance and there wasn't a lot of waiting. Mostly blue skys and 20 C but there was enough wind for all to wish the wind screens were in place. I know the experienced plays really enjoy the competitive sessions and like that we are exploring these type of sessions to ensure everyone gets to play the level of p

Pickleball - Outdoor Courts - Sat., May. 9, 2026
Our second outdoor Saturday happened today. It was lightly attended but great play was had the 10 players in attendance. The wind screens are not up yet but there is a committment from the town to have them up before this weekend. The courts are in great shape and are really pretty clean. The areas pressure washed last May look particular colorful and there are some areas (where water stays) that are a bit brownish but still fine. The town is looking at doing some cleaning bu

May 12 (Tues) MTA Gym Availability Issue!
Dear Pickleballers and Group Members, We have sent a message as part of the committee to our town counterparts for improved communication from Mt A. We received no notification that the gym would be closed to us this morning. We are wrapping up our indoor play until fall but hoping by the time we start up again in October these glitches will be resolved. Thanks all for your patience and we appologize to all Pickleball players who were inconvenienced today! We will do everyt

Pickleball - Outdoor Courts - Sat., May. 2, 2026
Outdoor pickleball officially started today, though I hear the nets had been up for 3 or 4 days and some people had already gotten some enjoyment in playing outside. Good for you. I am a strong believer that pickleball is more fun outside on dedicated courts, sunshine and even a little breeze for variety and an extra challenge. We had 14 people participate at in this first group day out and hopefully we will have many more before summer sets in. The courts looked good and see

Pickleball - MTA - Tues., Apr. 28, 2026
We had 17 people participate at the gym today, we had a lot of fun and good play. We were able to start before 9am as several arrived early and setup the nets. Thank you to those who did that. We played until 11:30am and one group stayed beyond that. It was good to see some people for the first or second time in a while. Elden had an amazing ATP backhand to was also a key point in our game. I was unable to defend it or win the game. With this beautiful weather we are expectin

Pickleball - MTA - Fri., Apr. 24, 2026
We had 27 people show up at our Pickleball session today. We got started early setting up nets and play on the near side 3 courts got started. However, we soon after had 24 players and the basketball players were still occupying 2 courts and insisted that they had the rights to it since the scheduled showed that badminton had part of the gym reserved. I was able to reason with them and brought the MTA gym attendant over and the remaining. basketball player allowed us to use t

Pickleball - Salem - Mon., Apr. 20, 2026
We were able to start setting up nets at 7:40pm sharp, which is the typical start time for Salem. Occassionaly we get to start at 7:30pm or earlier. It varies. There was still two games ongoing when we left at 10pm. We had 19 participants in attendance by 8:15pm. There was some confusion of the stacking methodology/process that determines who plays next (for those waiting) and the leadership with work to make it clearer. Fun and good play was had by all! Pickleball - Mt A - Friday, March 20, 2026
Friday’s are pickleball popular! Last Friday, we had 33 people out to play, and today there were 23. It was great to see some folks whom we hadn’t seen in a while and also welcome some “new to us” faces to the game. Whether you are a newer or seasoned player (or anywhere in between) we enjoy the opportunity to share the fun of the game. The skill level of play continues to grow! I want to say a quick thank you to those who help set up and take down nets that allow us to make

Mt A Parking Guidelines/Rules.
Dear Pickleballers playing at Mt A- The info below outlines recent changes to parking a vehicle in one of the university lots. These changes impact those on campus during Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday sessions between ONLY the months of September and April . At this time, you don’t need a parking permit in May, June, July, or August. Beginning Monday March 2 you will need a parking permit to use university lots. Enforcement will be gentle as Mt A transitions to the new s

Pickleball - Mt A - Tues, Feb 17, 2026
Apologies to everyone for the mix-up this morning at Mount A. We have traced the breakdown in communication from Mount A re: the change to the schedule for this morning. We owe a special thanks to Paul for navigating the situation with Mount A that enabled us to play until noon in half the gym. Thanks to everyone who patiently waited while we sorted things out and stayed to show their commitment to play. As I watched and listened, I was grateful for the members we have who sh

Pickleball - Mt A - Tues, Feb 10, 2026
This morning, we had 26 players out, and it was clear from the start that everyone brought their “A” game! It was great to have six courts busy. Several games went into “overtime” for a win, and there were lots of extended rallies and hard-fought points. No matter the score, lots of smiles could be seen as you looked around the courts. See you all next time! Heather Estabrooks
