Pickleball - MTA - Tues., Apr. 28, 2026
We had 17 people participate at the gym today, we had a lot of fun and good play. We were able to start before 9am as several arrived early and setup the nets. Thank you to those who did that. We played until 11:30am and one group stayed beyond that. It was good to see some people for the first or second time in a while. Elden had an amazing ATP backhand to was also a key point in our game. I was unable to defend it or win the game. With this beautiful weather we are expectin

Pickleball - MTA - Fri., Apr. 24, 2026
We had 27 people show up at our Pickleball session today. We got started early setting up nets and play on the near side 3 courts got started. However, we soon after had 24 players and the basketball players were still occupying 2 courts and insisted that they had the rights to it since the scheduled showed that badminton had part of the gym reserved. I was able to reason with them and brought the MTA gym attendant over and the remaining. basketball player allowed us to use t

Pickleball - Salem - Mon., Apr. 20, 2026
We were able to start setting up nets at 7:40pm sharp, which is the typical start time for Salem. Occassionaly we get to start at 7:30pm or earlier. It varies. There was still two games ongoing when we left at 10pm. We had 19 participants in attendance by 8:15pm. There was some confusion of the stacking methodology/process that determines who plays next (for those waiting) and the leadership with work to make it clearer. Fun and good play was had by all! Pickleball - Mt A - Friday, March 20, 2026
Friday’s are pickleball popular! Last Friday, we had 33 people out to play, and today there were 23. It was great to see some folks whom we hadn’t seen in a while and also welcome some “new to us” faces to the game. Whether you are a newer or seasoned player (or anywhere in between) we enjoy the opportunity to share the fun of the game. The skill level of play continues to grow! I want to say a quick thank you to those who help set up and take down nets that allow us to make

Mt A Parking Guidelines/Rules.
Dear Pickleballers playing at Mt A- The info below outlines recent changes to parking a vehicle in one of the university lots. These changes impact those on campus during Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday sessions between ONLY the months of September and April . At this time, you don’t need a parking permit in May, June, July, or August. Beginning Monday March 2 you will need a parking permit to use university lots. Enforcement will be gentle as Mt A transitions to the new s

Pickleball - Mt A - Tues, Feb 17, 2026
Apologies to everyone for the mix-up this morning at Mount A. We have traced the breakdown in communication from Mount A re: the change to the schedule for this morning. We owe a special thanks to Paul for navigating the situation with Mount A that enabled us to play until noon in half the gym. Thanks to everyone who patiently waited while we sorted things out and stayed to show their commitment to play. As I watched and listened, I was grateful for the members we have who sh

Pickleball - Mt A - Tues, Feb 10, 2026
This morning, we had 26 players out, and it was clear from the start that everyone brought their “A” game! It was great to have six courts busy. Several games went into “overtime” for a win, and there were lots of extended rallies and hard-fought points. No matter the score, lots of smiles could be seen as you looked around the courts. See you all next time! Heather Estabrooks

Pickleball - Mt A - Friday, Jan 30, 2026
This afternoon we had 18 people out. There were a couple of new faces out showing their pickleball abilities. I had a chance to talk to one of them, who is a 3rd year Mount A Aviation and Business student with a tennis background. Welcome Shayan, we hope you join us again! From lobs to digs to line drives and amazing serves, today’s play had it all. One game I watched had a 15+ shot rally. As I looked around the courts, I made note of the various local areas that make up some

Pickleball - Mt A - Thurs., Jan 29, 2026
This afternoon we had 16 people out to play pickleball between 1 and 3pm. Despite the change in time for today, we had a good turn-out. One of the comments I heard the most throughout the afternoon play was “great shot” (though not directed at me as I was having an off day to start and only found my game later). One of the many things I enjoy about this sport is the encouragement we give to each other, both on and off the courts. Everyone feels welcome and the skills continue

Pickleball - Salem - Wed., Jan 28, 2026
This evening we had 18 players out enjoying pickleball. There were a couple of new faces on the courts, including Vickie & Pam who were visiting from Halifax. They were filling their days full of activity with pickleball after having checked out our ski trails while visiting with Lisa and Dan. We hope to see them back soon! While having a sit down, I was reflecting on the level of play as well as the diversity of our players and it made me smile. No matter what may be happeni

Pickleball - Mt A - Tuesday, Jan 27, 2026
Due to the weather, things got off to a slow start this morning. Inspired by Tyler and his trek from Memramcook, we decided to wait to see if others would arrive, and by 9:20 am we had enough people to start playing. We ended up with 3 full courts plus a spare for most of the morning. When I left at 11 am, 2 courts were happily enjoying some extra playing time. IMPORTANT NOTICE for Thursday, January 29 - pickleball session will be from 1-3 pm for this week ONLY. Enjoy the sno
