Monday Evening, August 18th - Outdoor Courts

Updated: Sep 3

Hi all

We had a little cooler evening of play on Monday night, but it did not keep people away. We had all four courts busy from shortly after 6:00 until about 8:30... Some left early when the mosquitos starting to come out (not invited!). Some of the faithful (or crazy) stayed past dark again! Play rotated quite well, but with so many newer players I am not sure everyone knows to play two games and take a break. What I saw was that there was not much sitting down for anyone...so that is good!

Two more of our Pickleballers, which turned into three when Agnes pitched in, helped out with picking up furniture and more for the Sackville Food Bank Second Chances Thrift Store. Thanks goes to Tim and Josh and Agnes! and Josh stayed past the pick up time and helped assemble some shelving!

In the last game of the evening saw Saeed and myself play Fred and new player, Eddie. He is from Peru and has an interesting story, we have not completely heard. I did call my daughter to have her speak to him in Spanish to make him feel welcome, and he did ask if there are any other Spanish speaking people in town. Welcome Eddie, and I believe Saeed and I won a very close match... albeit we could have used a fluorescent ball.

Play continues this morning, Tuesday then again on Wednesday evening!

Pickle on!
