Saturday Morning, August 2nd - Outdoor Courts

Updated: Sep 3

Hi,

All courts were busy for most of the morning. At max. there were about 20 players out. Several spectators showed up too as today was the Sackville Farmer's Market. SappyFest's 20th anniversary also meant the town was buzzing. There were many competitive, close games early on with teams winning by only a few points. Logan, Larry, Tim, and Richard were often involved. Richard's serve and strong drives were consistent early on. Saeed's serve was also giving everyone problems (watch your toes Saeed). Catherine was working on her dinks and joined by her niece, Beatrice, who is an amazing player that makes it look effortless. They taught June and I a good lesson. One memorable game for me was when Beatrice and Agnes paired up against Saeed and myself. Can't exactly remember the score but if you made one mistake they capitalized on it! It's very fun to play different styles of pickleball, e.g. sometimes more dinks versus just "banging" and hitting it hard. Try it out to develop your all-around game.

Last game had Pam and Steve paired against Rahil and myself. I think everyone was worn out by then after ~3 hours of play in the sun. Final score favored the youth!

Next playtime is Monday evening.

Happy New Brunswick Day,

Josh
