Hi All,
We had about 18 players out today using all four courts from 1pm until about 3pm. The weather was good except for the dust coming from the construction site. Today was particularly bad for a while and the courts were pretty dusty. Hopefully the rain due this weekend will wash the courts clean again, if not maybe we’ll have to get the garden hose out and rinse them off.
If anyone happens to find a blue towel among their pickleball gear that isn’t supposed to be there, bring it along again next week and hand it over to my better half.
The last two games pitted Corinna and I against Terry and Saeed in one, while Pam and Kirk challenged Rahil and Bruno in the other. Corinna and I fell to defeat by a score of 11 to 5. When I got the score from the other game I felt much better about our loss considering that Pam and Kirk faired much worse going down by a score of 11 to “somewhat less”. There were many great games and close scores, unfortunately I only had the stats for the last two – except for one other where Bruno and I were down 8 to 2 against Fred and Corinna but pulled of an amazing comeback winning the game 12 to 10. I hadn’t seen Corinna for a while, and boy she’s one heck of a tough opponent, carrying Fred along for the ride! Way to go Corinna!
Also, as a reminder, on July 1st, Canada Day, we will be playing on the courts as usual from 9 to 12 but with a bit of a different game play. We have several of our regular folks volunteering to spend our time with any of the public who wants to either learn about or simply play pickleball. This has been announced in the Town’s Event Brochure.
We play again on Saturday (weather permitting) at 9am. It looks like we are in for some rain so check the weather before heading out. Then our next session is Monday evening at 6pm.
That’s it for now,
Paul
