Monday, March 10th @ Salem

We had a great group of picklers tonight at Salem school.  I counted to 23 then 2 more players arrived and 1 or 2 left, I think.

Then we changed the scoring from 11 points to 9 points for the win hoping to move the play along but then what happened? Didn’t everyone step up their play and extend the game further.

And for all the games we only had 3 balls! After one broke I fortunately had an extra in my bag.

We used the stacking paddles for the rotations but then if you played 2 games you came off but sometimes only 1 came off and sometimes all 4 came off but 3 people had taken their paddles away and ….

Oh dear, this math is difficult to sort out so late in the day!

We welcomed players from Dorchester tonight. As I don’t play much at night I’m not sure if they have played with us before but they know the sport and had some tough matches.

We also had some returnees from Amherst. Several had recently won the GOLD medal in a tournament in Bible Hill and they showed us how they earned it!! Good playing!

3 counts were still going strong when I left around 9:45 so no results to report.

Signing off
