Tuesday morning, June 24th - Outdoor Courts

Hi All,

We had about 20 folks out on the courts today under sunny skies and what could only be described as very interesting winds.  I gave it a go again today and felt pretty good even though Dan and I shook hands (a little joke between Dan and I).  And Frank, the sweet guy that he is, took it a bit easy on me again today – T’anks Buddy!  We played from 9am until about 11:45am.

There was some discussion about making better utilization of the Playtime Scheduler.  Personally, I didn’t favor using it, but several folks think it is a good idea, especially for those coming from out of town.  It gives people a chance to see how many are interested in playing on any given day.  We will promote using the App and hopefully everyone will start signing in when they intend to play.  Our committee member Tim is well versed on the App and will provide details on its use in a separate post, and he is quite willing to help anyone who has any difficulty with it.  Remember, this is simply an aid that will help many of our fellow players.  You are not required to sign up in order to play – everyone is welcome to play as always.  This will be helpful to many of our buddies, and I encourage you to use the app for their benefit if not for your own.

Dan was quick to report his and Pam’s win against Frank and Heather.  Apparently anytime that it takes several rallies before the first point is scored the rules change such that the first team to a point wins the game.  We can now call this DAN’S RULE.  So Dan and Pam won their game 1 to 0, even though they played on (just for fun) and Frank and Heather crossed the 11 point threshold well ahead of Dan and Pam – good win Dan and Pam!

The last 2 games were between Fred and Lisa against Bruno and Monique, or was it F & M vs B & L, or L & M vs F & B or, or, or ……… I lost track of their reports, everyone was giving different accounts of the games  - I got a headache from all the confusion.  If you ask them they will say that I was the only one confused, maybe but I’ve got the pen  so ….  Lisa, I mean this in the nicest way …..  STOP TALKING, and that goes for everyone else too.  Editor’s decision is final – Game 1: B & M 11, F & L 5,  Game 2:.     F & L 11, B & M 9.

We play again Wednesday evening at 6pm, and then Thursday morning at 9am.
