Tuesday morning, September 2nd - Outdoor Courts

Hi All,

We started at 9:00 with two courts, which quickly turned into four courts with players coming and going! It was great to welcome back Jocelyne and Bruno who have been missing in action and we missed them too! It did not take them long to knock off any rust!

Also with us this morning was Janice from PEI who was visiting her son and family for the beginning of school. Great to have her join us. Pamela was back for more play as was Chris, who was donning no glasses from successful eye surgery. To ensure his eyes stayed safe, I loaned him my spare.

With a few arriving a little late, play continued past 12:00 and a few of us continued until we were worn out... Great strategy, not mentioning any names like Fred, Tim and Heather...

So Bruno and I challenged Fred and Tim, and although they took an early lead 8-1 we battled back to upset them 11-9.

Then Tim and I battled Fred and Heather to a 11-8 victory.

Just as we were about to leave, we saw Mari Fisher and Jocelyn Dowling rallying. They looked like a promising couple of players, who we find out had had some pointers from Fred and Betty Jo... They are new to the game, and it looks like they are hooked... I paired up with Jocelyn and Bruno paired up with Mari with the game going back and forth. I forget the final score but it was fun! I think Jocelyn had to rush off to work, or me might still be there???

We  play again on Wednesday evening at 6pm and then Thursday morning at 9am.  We have requested the Town to confirm our Fall/Winter schedule for the MTA and Salem gyms, no word yet but should hear this week.
