Friday, January 31 @ MTA

Hi All,

It turned out to be a great day today with about 29 folks playing on six courts. We used our paddle stacker and everything seemed to go very well. Some people even had time for a little chat while waiting for their next game.

There were quite a number of games that either went into overtime or ended 11 to 9. I didn't get to record any specific games today. The last three games were cut short when we ran out of time at 3pm with the football team waiting for their practice time in the gym. It's pretty neat that from start to finish taking down the all nets it only takes us about 5 minutes - what a team effort - thanks!

TIB-BIT of info: Bill Gates was quoted as saying "..... I can't think of a better way to spend a summer day than as a Pickler." everyone who tries pickleball gets the bug! Also, you may have seen that picture of Frank with the new paddle he got for Christmas - it is the biggest one that I had ever heard of - until today. In Iowa at the Smash Park there stands a 150lb paddle that is 13.6ft high and 6.9 ft wide, and is the equivalent of 180 regular-size paddles. The fellow that uses it is named Paul - I'm not sure but I think his last name is Bunyan and he doesn't need a partner. Don't worry Frank, I think you could still take him!

Anyway, that's it for today, we play again on Monday evening at Salem, and then Tuesday morning at MTA.

Take care,

Paul
