Tuesday, January 28th @ MTA

Hi All,

We had about 27 people on 5 courts today and played from 9am until a bit after noon.  As Pam and I were leaving there was one game still going on with Bruno sitting on the sidelines.  Frank and Debbie were playing a game against Fred and Kelly – it was a rematch from a previous game.  I don't know who won the first one and we left before the second one ended – So I'm calling it a very tight match ending up in a draw – if I've got it wrong, the position of court reporter is available to anyone who wants it.  Any takers?

I was involved in an earlier game where Kirk and I took on Catherine and Allen.  It was a great battle with an overtime score of 14 to 12 for the winning team!

It is wonderful to see folks getting out and enjoying the sport, and before you know it we'll be back on the outdoor courts on those calm and sunny days.  Even though today didn't give us any hope for Spring just yet – Thank God for MTA and Salem!

Did you know?

There is a drink called Pickleback.  It's a Brooklyn bartender's creation: a shot of whiskey with a couple of ounces of pickle brine.  Take that one-two punch and see if your serve improves!

Also, in 2017 The Pickleball Hall of Fame was instituted.  It is open to nominations for outstanding competitors and contributors.  Maybe we should get them to include a section for our Golden Pickle Group, our pins could become collectors' items – what do you think? (maybe not!)

No other news for now, we play again on Wednesday evening at Salem and then Thursday morning at MTA.

Take care,

Paul
